What it's about
A man wanders out of the desert not knowing who he is. His brother finds him, and helps to pull his memory back of the life he led before he walked out on his family and disappeared four years earlier.
Heartbreak and tenderness across a wide open road
A returning classic worth seeking out: Wim Wenders' aching drama follows a man who wanders out of the desert and slowly finds his way back to the family he left behind, with Harry Dean Stanton and Nastassja Kinski giving performances that ache with longing. It is quiet, beautiful and quietly devastating in the best date-night way, the kind of film that makes you reach for each other's hand. At 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.1 on IMDb it is a stunner, though be aware it is screening only very sparingly this week, so plan ahead if you want to catch it.
